All documents submitted with your application for a travel document must be originals, unless clearly indicated otherwise; photocopies will not be accepted.

Submit an application by mail

Using a certified courier or traceable mail service can reduce the delivery time of your application and help protect your documents.

Submit an application in person

At the Passport Canada office located at:

When submitting an application in person, you should do so yourself. If this is not possible, it may be submitted in person by an acceptable third party, unless it is an urgent or express application (you must apply in person yourself for urgent or express service). You must be 16 years of age or older to submit an application in person.

The new travel document may be picked up by an acceptable third party if they provide written consent from the applicant, as well as valid identification.
