If you are applying from and/or having the passport delivered outside of Canada, you must pay the abroad fees.

Passport Canada does not accept cash or personal cheques. Find out what methods of payment are accepted.

By mail

Information

  • You must pay the appropriate fee with your application or it will not be processed

  • Passport Canada does not accept cash or personal cheques

  • Debit cards (Interac, Visa Debit or Virtual debit) are not accepted for applications submitted by mail or by a third party

  • You are not eligible for a refund of the service fee if you cancel your application, are refused a travel document, or if you are issued a passport for a shorter validity period than requested (for example, in cases where an individual has had multiple losses). Only the consular fee (C$25), which applies to all adult applications, is refundable if a passport is not issued

  • Administrative fees and applicable interest will be applied to all dishonoured payments

  • Fees are subject to change

Canadians in the following regions must use the same forms and follow the same rules as Canadians in the United States: Bermuda, American Samoa, the Midway Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

Footnotee 2

A consular fee of C$25 is included in the price of all adult travel documents. Passport Canada has no authority over the use or amount of this fee.

Urgent services are not available at:

  • Canada Post and Service Canada receiving agents; or
  • Passport Canada offices in Pointe-Claire, Whitby, Brampton, Calgary South, Kelowna and Richmond.

Footnote 4

Standard pick-up and Express services are not available at:

  • Canada Post and Service Canada receiving agents; or
  • the Pointe-Claire Passport Canada office.
  • You may apply for pick-up or express service at the Passport Canada offices in Whitby, Brampton, Calgary South and Richmond, but you will be required to pick up your passport at another location to be confirmed when you submit your application.
  • At the Kelowna Passport Canada office: In-person service (10 working days) and express service (4 to 9 working days) are available.
